"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step"
Every living person is embarking on their own journey of life. Throughout one's journey there are twists and turns, unexpected detours and obstacles that can seem inescapable. The complexities of life can cloud our sight making our journey seem very scary, unclear, and can make us feel alone and unsure.
Through a therapeutic relationship, one can explore, examine, and evaluate the lessons learned throughout their journey in addition to visualizing their next steps. For some people deciding to seek therapy can seem daunting. Some people may be apprehensive about starting therapy, uncertain of what will come out of it. Some may be very eager to start therapy. No matter what brought you here, I say Welcome.
In therapy it’s common for some to feel very vulnerable. As your therapist, I say in the therapeutic environment all emotions are welcome, whatever your experience with therapy is, know that it is welcome in the therapeutic environment.
In therapeutic relationships, I invite folks to arrive as a whole, bringing all of who they are into the room on their own time. The room is where reflection happens. In the room the focus is the journey of how the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and actions blend and take form.
A journey in which I am a fellow traveler, here to listen, to support, to hold, and to care for YOU. My counseling style is supportive, interactive, authentic, and YOU focused.
Taking this step requires a lot of courage and I commend you for making the decision to see where the journey may lead.
